What do we expect from you?

Distribute material to customers while maintaining and abiding by Transportation rules and regulations.

Your Key Responsibilities will be:

- Distribution of material to clients as required.

- Collection of material or returns from clients.

- Responsible of ensuring that the truck follows the required maintenance set forth by DOT regulations.

- Maintain drivers log book.

- Responsible for assuring that the truck leaves with the necessary documentation wherever it is going.

- Position blocks and ties, straps/chains & binders for cargo securement.

- Accuracy and accounting of all freight delivered and/or picked up.

- Adherence and successful execution of all paperwork with special emphasis on Inspections and hours of service requirements.

- Routine communication with manager after each stop and for any and all exceptions.

-  Must be able to interact courteously and tactfully with managers, co-workers, customers and/or vendors in a way that positively affects production and morale.

- Assist in moving material in warehouse with forklift and/or overhead crane

- Assist in the process of collecting payments from customer, vendors, and/or contractors.

- Proactively seek opportunity for sales by giving customers information about promotions, discount slabs, etc.

 

Qualifications/Certifications:

GED or HS Grad.

Automotive Tech AAS preferred but not required.

Mandatory Class A License for US and Class DC for Canada.

TWIC Card preferred but not required.

What knowledge do you need?

HAZMAT endorsements may be required.

Must have a valid Class license.

Must be able to pass all DOT pre-employment requirements.

Must be able to pass a skilled test (driving test).

Must be able pass random drug screens.

Experience & proficiency with DOT Cargo Securement/Load Regulations.

TWIC (Transportation Work Identification Credentials) preferred.

Ability to operate warehouse equipment (crane, forklift, etc.).

What do you need to be successful in the role?

Minimum 3 years tractor trailer experience with class license required, or similar heavy haul experience.

Preferred experience between 3- 9 years tractor trailer experience with class license required, or similar heavy haul experience  & TWIC Card.
