What we are looking for

 

Our People Department at Cosentino (www.cosentino.com) we are looking for a Benefits Coordinator to join our Corporate Office located in Coral Gables. 
 

What you will do

As a Benefits Coordinator, you will be responsible to assist with clerical and administrative duties related to benefits, leave administration, and general HR operations.  We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented candidate who can work in a fast-paced environment. Also, you will be:

Benefits/Leave Administration
-    Managing the leave administration process from the employees’ initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced scheduled leave use.
-    Proving counsel to employees and supervisors concerning leave benefits and providing employees with accurate information on deductions from pay relating to absences, medical certification requirements, return-to-work dates, etc.
-    Coordinate and implement daily benefits processing and resolution, including, but not limited to, enrollments, terminations, claims processing, COBRA, FMLA, and Disability. 
-    Processing POs and managing monthly billing for employee benefit programs such as group health insurance, dental, life, and medical reimbursement, etc...
-    Assisting employees with benefit inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
-    Assisting Sr. Benefits Analyst with coordination of the annual open enrollment process, including preparing, distributing, and receiving materials and forms.
-    Work cooperatively with Payroll and People Relations Specialists to ensure the accuracy of leave reports, status updates, and pay. 
-    Maintains reasonable communication together with the People Relation Specialist to employees on leave process to facilitate a smooth and timely return to work, relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason. 
-    Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers’ compensation, or other leave(s).
-    Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests by specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
-    Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
-    Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws.
-    Other duties as assigned.

Records/General Administration
-    Responsible for efficiently entering new hire and employee information into the HRIS database.
-    Collecting information for personnel files and promptly places in employees’ files.
-    Assisting Human Resources Department in auditing employee files.
-    Assisting with offer letter creation. 
-    Maintaining Human Resources Information System records and compiling reports from the database as needed.
-    Serving as a backup to other People Operations Specialists. 
-    Other duties as assigned.

-    Local Business People Services Manager

What you need to be succeed

Professional Experience
Required
-    2+ years of general work experience in Benefits and Leave Administration  

Academical Background
Required
-    Bachelor’s degree in a major/area of study Human Resources, Training, or related fields

Skills
Required
-    Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
-    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
-    Ability to maintain and administer confidential and sensitive information appropriately required
-    Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with a sense of urgency in a highly dynamic environment. 
-    Bilingual in English and Spanish.
 
Physical Requirements:
-    Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
