What are we looking for

 

At Cosentino (www.cosentino.com) we are looking for a Tax Analyst located in Coral Gables, FL, who will have the opportunity to work in a multinational environment, in full expansion, surrounded by numerous challenging projects that you can be part of.

What you will do

 

-    Manage timely monthly, quarterly, and annual multi-state tax return filings for sales & use tax (USA and Puerto Rico), Canadian VAT/GST, gross receipt and other miscellaneous state and local taxes. 
-    Review monthly multi-state sales tax filings from tax advisor for accuracy and prepare monthly tax postings. 
-    Maintain sales tax compliance calendar and update annual template with tax returns to file and pay each year.
-    Manage customer accounts billing tax adjustments. Approve tax credit memos and process tax journal entries.
-    Analyze and resolve tax notices and inquiries received from state and local tax authorities.
-    Reconcile tax general ledger accounts for sales & use tax and property tax. 
-    Manage the multi-state property tax compliance for payments and postings.
-    Manage multi-state resale certificates from customers in the OneSource platform.
-    Responsible for resolving and responding to internal tax inquiries received via the tax department email.  
-    Review and reconcile tax vendors account for discrepancies in postings. Process corrections.
-    Maintain data to meet SCIIF requirements.
-    Communicate with OneSource sales tax platform and internal IT to resolve tax issues. 
-    Assist Tax Manager with the preparation of the tax budget.
-    Assist with internal and external audit document requests and inquiries.
-    Support Tax Manager with month-end closing activities related to sales tax.
-    Assist in documenting, reviewing, and analyzing processes for necessary control and efficiencies.
-    Conduct state and local tax regulatory law research as needed.
-    Educate internal employees on best tax practices.
-    As the Company’s operation evolves and expands, identify ways to make Tax Department processes efficiently. 
-    Assist Tax Manager with tax-related projects as needed.

What you need to succeed

 

Professional Experience
-    Minimum 2 years of accounting, tax-related, public accounting, or industry experience.
-    Proficient in Excel a plus.
-    SAP experience a plus.
-    Prior experience with sales tax software a plus. 

 

Knowledge
-Must be detail oriented and able to work independently.
-Should possess problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
-Strong desire to learn, adapt and grow in a dynamic environment.
 

Education
Required
•    High School Diploma/GED

Desired 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field
