What will you be doing?

As a Travel Operator you will serve a crucial role in fabricating a quality product to our customers across several locations  A Travel Operator will perform functions of different fabrication positions and work closely with other team members in maximizing overall production efforts in a team environment. You will be rotating from one function or other depending on the production needs.
Your responsibilities may include: 

•    Operate the different cutting machines in the shop:
•    Fabricate edges, sides, corner radius, angles and sink cutouts using tools required in the process
•    Polish material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools. 
•    Control and manipulate machinery in a wide variety of fields to produce goods, make repairs or join our systems together.
•    Apply pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while making sure dimensions stay the same. 
•    Assist with following daily cut schedules, pulling materials for the operators, keeping track of the scraps and inventory, ensuring pieces are in good condition before delivering to the Machine Operators, and inputting material information into a tracker for the fabrication shop
•    Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, and marking any defects for possible rework 
•    Responsible for wearing all personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, waterproof gear, face mask, etc.)
•    Ensure that safety procedures are followed and that materials are properly stored
•    Work in a collaborative environment by helping coworkers in other stations if needed
•    Other duties as assigned

What are we looking for?

EXPERIENCE
Required
•    Experience in fabricating Marble, Granite and Quartz
•    Basic maintenance knowledge

Desired
•    Experience in Construction, Industrial and Manufacturing fields
•    Experience operating Forklift

EDUCATION
Desired 
•    High School Diploma/GED

KNOWLEDGES
Required
•    Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.) 
Travel Requirements – This position requires travel, for up 75% of the time across 12 locations in the U.S. 

SKILLS
Required
•    Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs
•    Ability to stand and wear a respirator for 8 hours a day. 
•    Basic knowledges in math (adding, subtracting, measurements, etc)
•    Basic knowledge in maintenance
